The cup earphones of mountain bikes and some gravel bikes contain zero-stack bearings, which can withstand heavy loads and extreme forces, causing the earphones to be replaced prematurely.

Enduro Bearings' Maxhit headset solves these problems by eliminating the aluminum bearing cup and converting the outer bearing race to a head tube interface. The company's patent-pending 100% stainless steel design makes room for larger balls nested in deeper bearing race grooves to improve performance and durability.

Maxhit bearing balls have "eight times the mass and larger bearing race contact area, which can withstand twice the load force. Preliminary tests show that the latter increases exponentially. Maxhit components include a lifetime warranty, including corrosion protection," Maxhit said .

"We have been exploring ways to improve bicycle bearings to support our OEM customers, store mechanics and riders," said Matt Harvey, President and Founder of Enduro Bearings. "When we find a performance or reliability problem, we seek to solve it, and this is what Maxhit does for headphones."

Simplified installation eliminates steering tube adjustment. The preload can be from "very light" to "very tight", and it can still rotate freely. Partners including Pivot Cycles specify Enduro products on bicycles.

"We have worked with Enduro for many years and look forward to testing this promising headphone design. Their products are the best, and we hope that Maxhit components perform very well," said Chris Cocalis, President and CEO of Pivot Cycles.

Harvey added: "It is very important for us to work with bicycle manufacturers to develop bearing solutions that can improve the mechanical properties of the bicycle, thereby improving the rider experience while eliminating reliability issues. We believe that Maxhit components are the rule of the game. The changer not only applies to headphones, but also applies to other parts of the bicycle."

Enduro will showcase Maxhit and its product line at the Sea Otter Expo in October, the booth number is #S25. Maxhit headphones will start retail in January 2022. For more product information, please visit here.
